Puttenham United FC were formed in 2005 under their original name of Farncombe FC before being known as Godalming United FC.
On the 6th July 2009 the club agreed a lease with Puttenham Parish Council to play at School Lane - as part of the agreement Godalming agreed to change their name to Puttenham to represent the first Puttenham football club in the village for approx. 25 years
